Why are you crying?

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

Exodus 14 V15-16

Has God given you a vision  or placed something on your heart?  Has he shown you your purpose. You get excited, you have a pep in your step for a few days, a few weeks even. Then you get weary. It’s not as easy as you thought it was. You cry out to God, Help me Lord! I don’t know what to do, where to go……

This is exactly what I was feeling and then the story of Moses came to mind. We all know the story of Moses, the minute you read his name the song came to mind, “Let my people Go!” Well if it didn’t your singing it now :). You could easily give a synopsis of the story: Moses was told he was going to free his people. Things happened, ended up at the sea, people are scared and then Moses parts the sea, end of story! Right?

I pulled out my Bible and decided to read the story again. It is truly amazing how each time you read the Bible, even if you read the verse one hundred times, you will find things that you never saw before. You get a new understanding on things you’ve known all along. I started reading and got to where the Lord told Moses, “Why are you crying out to me?”

I said to myself, God why did you say that? Then I realized so many times God shows us the way to go, tells us his plans for our lives and then we stand at the door refusing to enter but cry out of confusion. WHAT ARE WE CONFUSED ABOUT? He told us exactly what to do but because things have become harder than we thought we start whining instead of depending on God’s strength to see us through. Where is our faith? He is literally waiting for us to raise our staff and part the sea.  He is waiting for us to take the next step. He has shown you where to go, what to do but you sit and do nothing and then Cry.

What are you waiting for? Who are you waiting for. Don’t say God because he is waiting on you. He has already made his move. The ball, as they say, is in your court. Are you going to take that shot or take yourself out of the game because you feel you’re not going to make it so your not even going to try.

As I write these words I am giving myself a real kick because I’m guilty of all that I have stated. I will stop crying, I will stop whining and I will get off my BUTT and do what he told me to do.

Lord, I will question you no more. Thank you for revealing your plans for my life. I trust you and I will follow you ….Amen

I hope this helps someone as much as it has helped me.
