Waiting is hard!

“We want instant gratification, but that’s not always the best.”

Four months ago I stepped out on faith to start doing what I was called to do. For some reason in my naive head, I thought that things were just going to fall into place and I would have instant success. The whole microwave mentality has really taken a toll on my generation. We want instant gratification, but that’s not always the best. We have seen people in the media who have gained instant success and then spiraled out of control. That doesn’t happen to everyone but do we truly value things that fall into our laps.

I have taken a step back and realized I need to start treating this new path with the same attitude I had when I was in the corporate world. I was a hard worker and put my best foot forward everyday. It would be crazy not to put that same mentality towards my own business.

“During these silent times when it feels like nobody’s paying any attention”

During these silent times when it feels like nobody’s paying any attention, I will hold on to Gods word. He will never leave me nor forsake me and as long as I have him I have all that I need. I will look back on this blog post when I come face to face with success and be filled with joy that I didn’t give up.

My God is able!

  1. Interesting title for your content. Not sure what your situation is or where you are located, but it sounds like you have a business you just launched and things aren’t going well. Do you have mentors (at least one) from the business side of the house and who has a Christian perspective? What are you in need of? Marketing help? Business development? Something else? Are you on LinkedIn and in groups that you can bounce your questions off of for professional opinions? I love the passage in James where he says not to say you are going to go to a certain city and make money there, but to instead say, God willing we will go and make a profit. Definitely put your best foot forward daily, but do it to serve God and the gospel of Jesus Christ, not to please people.

I pray that God will bless you in your endeavors as you pursue Him passionately through this business. And even if it fails it does not mean that you are a failure. Pick yourself up, learn from the mistakes, and continue serving Him.

    1. Thank you so much! My hope is to grow this blog and to get my books published. I have been working on it for awhile now and will continue to. You have given me quite a lot to think about and I truly appreciate it. I do have a mentor but I haven’t contacted her out of fear of her not understanding the direction my life is going in. I’ve moved to a new state and have thought about connecting with people in my new church, just haven’t done it yet. I will continue to keep my eyes on God and not my situation. Once again thank you for your kind words!
