Work Ethic

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

John 14:13

Today the thought came to mind, “What is my work ethic?”

I have had a job since the age of 15 and I was always a hard worker. I wanted to please my boss and co-workers. Now that I’ve stepped out on my own I noticed that my work ethic has changed. You would think that now that I am dependent on myself it would be easy to keep up the same work ethic.

The thing is you have to work twice as hard to stay dedicated to a task. Now that you don’t have anyone to answer to but yourself, you can become a bit lax with getting things completed. I went through a period of feeling very unmotivated and that was due to my perspective.

What I realized is that though I do not have an earthly boss, I have a heavenly one that is dependant on me. God tells us to ask anything and it will be given to us. How can I ask him to bless my work if I haven’t given him my best.

For entrepreneurs out there, stay dedicated to your work. You were given the gift of being your own boss don’t take it for granted. Become eager to please your heavenly boss and he will bless the work of your hands.

Today’s Prayer:

Lord, we thank you for your patience with us. Father reignite the fire that you have placed in us to see your will done here on earth. Strengthen us so that we don’t become weary in this fight towards our purpose. You are a mighty God that can and will do anything we ask or imagine.

We ask everything in Jesus name!
